Hartford

Hartford is the capital of the state, if you drive by you’ll see the golden dome of the Capitol from the cover image. I believe only 11 capitol domes are golden.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with vegan options that can accomodate a large group, I recommend Fire by Forge, on Broad St (very close to the highway).

The building itself is beautiful, and the mission of this non-profit restaurant is to build careers and train personnel. Please note that a 19% gratuity is included in the prices listed on the menu, to provide a fair wage to their staff.

Every menu has clearly labeled vegan options for starters, main course, and dessert. We went for brunch and I had the Vegan BBQ Jackfruit Hash, which was very flavorlful. For dessert, I had the vegan chocolate torte which was delicious… very dense!
