Vegan in Evanston

Just north of Chicago, Evanston is a busy college town (Northwestern University). It has quite a few vegan options. Here are my two favorite ones!

Blind Faith Café

I’ve been going to the Blind Faith Café for many years now, and I keep being impressed with the vegan options at this vegetarian restaurant. Mostly, I love how many delicious vegan desserts they have: look at that frosting!

Pictured left, top is the Stuffed Avocado with Quinoa and bottom is the Kung Pao, from the dinner menu.

Located on Dempster St, there is plenty of street parking nearby. It’s a very popular place so I would recommend making a reservation.

Mid Kitchen

Mid Kitchen is a brunch restaurant, and they had quite a few vegan options.

We had crispy fried avocado as an appetizer and it was delicious, with a siracha vegan mayo dip that had a real kick to it!

I’ll be honest, my falafel sandwich was hard to eat, but once I ate a couple of falafel with a fork I was able to eat the rest as a sandwich. The flatbread was very good and the falafel a little on the crispy side, but the tahini sauce was wonderful. My husband was very happy with his tofu scramble!

The place is small and cute and the staff very nice.
